Whether you have a business to business ecommerce or a business to consumer ecommerce website, there are certain things every blog should contain. In this post, we are going to share three ‘must have’ features that every ecommerce blog should have.
Social Sharing
It is surprising that there are so many ecommerce websites that have blogs without social media integration (Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook, etc.). The purpose of social media integration is not only to get people to ‘like’ your Facebook page or to follow you on twitter. You also want to have social sharing capabilities so that customers can share your posts with their family and friends. The more people that view your post the better. This will help increase your online visibility.
A Search Box
Every ecommerce blog should have a search box, especially if you have a lot of content. Sometimes users will come to your blog to search for a specific topic. It really helps if there is a search box that will allow you to type in a phrase (or word) without needing to sift through a maze of blog posts.
Call-to-Action
Having a blog is a great way to build your subscriber list. Make sure you have a call-to-action displayed on every post. For example, at Maxmize, our calls to action are available on every blog post. You can also have a call-to-action button or a subscribe box on each page. Don’t just assume that people are going to take action. You have to direct them to what you want them to do (call, subscribe, buy, etc.).
As you can see from the tips above, it takes a lot more to a blog than having great content. There are certain elements to a blog that is needed in order to help engage readers and compel them to take action.
